High-speed data transmission cables КВИП provide data transfer in frequency band up to 1 MHz and are to be used in the following applications: digital data buses, connection of sensors with frequency modulated digital signal, RS 485, RS 482, RS 422, in systems Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, HART, Ethernet or other interfaces requiring a twisted pair as a data transfer means.
Cables are designed for fixed and movable installation indoor and outdoor, on condition of preventing direct solar radiation, in cable ducts, tunnels, underground trenches incl. locations subject to earth currents. Cables in UV modification may be laid in the open air without a radiation protection. Cables are also applicable to explosion hazards areas of classes 0, 1, 2 (acc to GOST R MEC 60079-14-2008), and in nuclear power stations safety systems.
Design specifics, materials, modifications
- Meet requirements of standards "RS" of EIA/TIA association.
- Cross-linked polyolefin core insulation considerably increases frequency characteristics in comparison with PVC insulation
- Copper multi-strand conductors of cl. 4, with numerical or colour marking
- "Twisted pairs" may have separate screens or one common screen
- Core cross section from 0,12mm² to 1,5mm², the number of "twisted pairs" from 1 to 61
- Wide operating temperature range −60°... +200°С
- Cable in modification "М" — is oil resistant
- Cable with fire safety index "FR" — is fire resistant
- Cable in modification "УФ" — is UV resistant
- New materials are applied for version "нг(A)-LS", "нг(A)-HF", "T"
- from Moisture spreading protection is applied
- Large application area, including all explosion hazardouszones
- Combined cable — ther are copper conductors and optical fibers in one cable
Cables КВИП with core cross section 0,12..1,5mm² have multi-strand tinned copper conductor of class 4 or higher, whereas for core diameters 0,40; 0,51; 0,64mm the conductor is solid of class 1. Insulation of all cables is made of the cross-linked polyolefin, so the cables comply completely with RS standards on wave resistance.
"В" for the sheath material in the cable description means PVC, if united with fire safety index "нг(A)" it means low-combustible PVC compound, "нг(A)-LS" - low-smoking PVC compound. "П" means the sheath made of polymeric material which is always halogen free ("нг(A)-HF"). "Т" means thermoplastic elastomer which gives the cable more flexibility and expanded temperature range. All the cables are available in fire-resistant modification "FR".
Conductors of the cable are twisted in pairs ("twisted pair") with lay length no more than 40mm (for "FR" cables - no more than 60mm) and have numerical or colour marking; pairs may have separate screens, one common screen made of stranded copper wires or Alumoflex (foiled film) with a drain wire or have no screen at all. Under the outer sheath there is a special tape that prevents moisture from spreading lengthwise All the cables have round cross section provided by a substrate manufactured by an extrusion method, so the cables meet completely requirements of Section 9.3.1 of GOST R MEC 60079-14-2008.

Fire-resistant cables (index "нг(A)-FR", "нг(A)-FRLS" и "нг(A)-FRHF")
In fire resistant cable (with indexes "нг(A)-FR", "нг(A)-FRLS" and "нг(A)-FRHF" each conductor is wrapped under the insulation with two mica tapes. Such cable keeps serviceability for minimum 90 min. when exposed to open flame and high temperature up to +750°С. This helps to avoid the power cut in case of fire. The requirements on the obligatory use of the FR cables in the -alarm systems, emergency lighting, exhausters, fire pumps, lifts etc. are stated in GOST R 53315-2009 and "Technical Regulations on requirements of fire safety" d.d. 22.07.2008 №123-Ф3.
The following customized modifications are available:
- with colour jacket (red, yellow and other colours are available);
- with combined cross-section of twisted pairs’ conductors (twisted pairs of different cross-sections in one cable);
- Cable of combined transmission - one cable serves simultaneously for transmitting electrical power (through copper conductors) and optical signals (through optic fibers).
