High back pressure low expansion foam generator ВПГ

Certifications:

VPG high pressure low expansion foam generator is used for fire extinguishing in storage tanks containing oil, oil products, and other liquids; designed for supplying foam to tank protection systems.

VPG is a self-contained unit which generate low expansion foam from foam-forming solution by mixing the solution with atmospheric air in proportion dictated by the unit design. The generator design provides the working mode of the device if the counter pressure (backpressure) at its outlet does not exceed 40% of the inlet pressure.

Absence of movable parts accounts for high reliability of the generator.

The foam generator is to be mounted behind the tank dike and connected to the foam solution supply pipeline by means of standard flange DN100. At its outlet the generator is to be connected to the foam supply pipeline by means of standard flange DN150. The foam supply line must convey foam from the generator to the lower ring of the storage tank, above the bottom water level.

Air intake pipe of the generator is mounted face downwards and fitted with a mesh filter to protect the air supply lines of the generator from rain / snowfalls, small birds and animals.

VPG generator calibration within its min. and max. limits is carried out at factory in accordance with the customer’s flow and pressure specifications.

General specifications:

  • Used for subsurface fire extinguishing in hydrocarbon storage tanks;
  • Max. counter pressure: 40% min;
  • Customized calibration to working flow and pressure;
  • Absence of movable parts;
  • Protection against atmospheric precipitations.
